The middle of March is such a wonderful time for so many reasons. Here in central Ohio, we’re emerging from winter grays and there’s usually some sunshine and even warm weather.
But, best of all, there are these mid-March feast days! Oh, how I love St. Joseph! So, with that, let’s dive into three shots of one of my favorite guys!
1. What we know about St. Joseph
But we do know that he loved Jesus and Mary.
2. Reading recs
Why of course I have favorite St. Joseph books! So good of you to ask! 😉
Given that this is the Year of St. Joseph, my first recommendation is for you to read Pope Francis’s apostolic letter declaring it so.
WITH A FATHER’S HEART: that is how Joseph loved Jesus, whom all four Gospels refer to as “the son of Joseph.”
Next up, let me point you to the popular-for-a-reason Consecration to St. Joseph, by Fr. Donald Calloway. While it can look intimidating, I would encourage you to give it a try. If it takes you longer than the time allocated, that. Is. OK. I give you permission to redefine success. (Notice I didn’t call it failure. Because it’s not.)
Get a copy and give yourself the gift of a relationship with St. Joseph.
In fact, I started praying the prayer below because of reading it.
And this reminds me…I need to find my copy and dive in! 🤎
Yep, that’s an affiliate link. Buy local, if you can. If you can’t, I appreciate your support by clicking here. 😃
3. Memorare to St. Joseph
Let’s pray together: Remember, O most chaste spouse of the Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who implored your help and sought your intercession were left unassisted. Full of confidence in your power, I fly unto you and beg your protection. Despise not, O Guardian of the Redeemer, my humble supplication, but in your bounty, hear and answer me. Amen. 🙏
Have a wonderful day and know that St. Joseph is walking beside you, just as surely as Mama Mary is.
Blessings and coffee,
Sarah
